KYMMA's 17th ANNUAL DAY TO FIGHT CANCER: UPDATE

Posted: Saturday, August 20, 2016

KYMMA should already be well into its annual fundraising event, our 17th Annual Day to Fight Cancer. However, each of the five members of our Board of Directors is facing an especially challenging time in life right now (e.g., new job, caring for elder parent or grandparent, illness, surgery, etc.) As a result, we need to raise funds a little differently this year.

Please know we all remain committed to the cause, but we want to try to scale things down until we get a better handle on life. After experiencing a decline in attendance the last few years, we're brainstorming ideas for a brand new, signature fundraising event by doing something different. We're just not sure yet what "different" is. Our fundraising efforts may increase in number, but consist of smaller events for the time being.

We are planning to hold a calendar raffle in November and trying to work on something for January to maintain our mission to assist those in the greater Plymouth area. We hope you will continue to help your neighbors. KYMMA takes great pride in our motto, "Neighbors Helping Neighbors."

You can make a secure, online, tax-deductible donation to KYMMA using the "Donate Now" button on this page (see below) and on our Contact page. Your generous donation to KYMMA stays in our local community, supports local residents, and is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. If you want more information about KYMMA, or have an idea to share, or would like us to stop by to pick up a donation, please call us at (603) 707-1466 or send e-mail to info@MemoriesAlive.org.

Hoka-Hey - Liz Aquilla Ice Muffin's Summer Run, a Hoka Hey memorial motorcycle ride through the White Mountains to benefit cancer patients, was held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 beginning at 12 noon at Laconia Harley-Davidson in Meredith.

Riders traveled a route through the White Mountains and ended up at Moose Pond Farm in Center Harbor for a barbecue. The event was organized by Tracy Aquilla as a tribute to his wife, Liz, who passed away last year after battling breast cancer.

KYMMA's 16th Annual "Day to Fight Cancer" - THANK YOU!

KYMMA sends a heart-felt thank you to all who made our 16th Annual "Day to Fight Cancer" such a success! Your generosity makes a difference in so many people's lives and KYMMA couldn't do it without you.

Saturday, September 26, 2015 was a gorgeous day and though attendance was down, donations are comparable to past years. Due to the low attendance, however, KYMMA is evaluating the event and looking at shaking things up. If you have any ideas/comments, we'd love to hear from you. Send e-mail to: info@MemoriesAlive.org.

As donations continue to come in, the total amount we've raised from this year's event is just shy of $15,000, with year to date fundraising just under $20,000. Remember, these funds stay in our local Central New Hampshire community to help individuals who live in the Pemi-Baker area and are affected by cancer.
